Summary of Position:

Claims Support is responsible for administrative duties related to the Claims department. Responsible for organizing and distributing incoming mail, faxes and emails. Delivers excellent customer service over the phone by assisting caller with inquires. Also provides support within the department and company with special projects. Works with the Claims Supervisor and Claims Examiners to learn company claims philosophy with the opportunity for advancement. Ability to obtain an adjuster license in the future for the states serviced.

Critical Responsibilities

  • Assist the company claims department with distribution of emails to the appropriate person from a central email.
  • Assist callers with their inquiries
  • Assign new claims based on direction from the Claims Supervisor
  • Work with the Accounting department to reconcile outstanding claim checks and the completion of void and stop payment requests
  • Responsible for reinspection report data collection
  • Responsible for vendor payments
  • Monitor licensing of claim examiners and Pharos
  • Process West Point subrogation recoveries
  • Work on special projects assigned by the Executive Vice President or Claims Supervisor.
  • Communicate with agents relative to the in-house projects.
  • Balance department tasks and responsibilities with initiative team involvement.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree preferred
  • One-year clerical experience or any position within an insurance related operation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office; especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and adhere to guidelines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management
